Un/Formal
/un-FOR-muhl/ — Rules studied. Rules broken. Elegantly.
We made Un/Formal for two men.
The one still on the journey to solidifying his identity, developing his taste while testing the limits of convention. And the one who knows what he likes and what works for him, and has learnt to break the rules elegantly. These two men are the same, just at different points in the same journey.
Un/Formal sits at a place of tension between classic menswear and a contemporary mindset. The craftsmanship feels at home on Savile Row. The silhouettes and details create a modern appeal and express African sensibilities tastefully. Wide legs, cropped hems and African infusions: each piece takes a formal vocabulary and turns it into visual poetry.

The one constant in a wardrobe built on exploration.
Sewn into the inner left leg of every pair of trousers runs a double stripe of aso oke — the Ìlà. An homage to a fading Nigerian tradition, Ìlà is a quiet signature of identity that simply needs to exist for its meaning to be clear.
It doesn't change. It doesn't perform. It is simply always there. This is how we carry heritage in every garment.

Un/Formal is what happens when the rules learn to dance.
