Who we are
Creed and Crown Clothings (trading as Creed & Crown, business name no. BN 3714251) is responsible for your personal information. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email info@creedandcrown.com.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the items you buy and your order history.
- Made-to-measure: your chosen measurement session and the measurements we take, so we can make your pieces.
- Gift cards: the recipient's name, email address and (if you give it) phone number, plus your personal message and chosen send date.
- Payment: payments are handled by Paystack. We receive confirmation of your payment and its reference, but we never see or store your full card or bank details.
- Your account: if you create one, your email address, name, phone number, saved address and wishlist. You sign in with a one-time code we email to you; we don't store passwords.
- Your cart: the items you add to your cart, and if you start checkout, the name, email address and phone number you enter, even if you don't complete your order. We use this to understand which pieces interest people and, occasionally, to contact you to help complete an order.
- Appointments: your name, email address, phone number and any notes you add when you book a consultation or fitting.
- Job applications: the details, links and CV you send through our careers page.
- Messages: what you send us by email, WhatsApp, phone or our contact form.
- Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and running.
If you give us someone else's details (for example, a gift card recipient), please make sure they're happy for you to do so.
How we use it
- To process, deliver and support your orders, including measurement sessions, alterations and returns.
- To create, send and manage gift cards, and let recipients spend them.
- To reply to your questions and keep you updated about your order.
- To prevent fraud and keep our website and payments secure.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To send you news and offers, but only if you've signed up to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Our legal reasons
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, we use your information because it's needed to perform our contract with you (your order), because we have a legal obligation, because it's in our legitimate interests to run and protect our business in ways you'd reasonably expect, or because you've given your consent (for example, to marketing emails). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted providers who help us run our business, and only what they need:
- Paystack: to process payments.
- Shipbubble and our courier partners: to quote for and deliver your order.
- Resend: to send order, gift card and job application emails.
- Cal.com: to schedule appointments and send booking confirmations and calendar invites.
- Netlify: to host our website and securely store order and gift card records.
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to contact us by WhatsApp.
- Google Fonts: our website loads its typeface from Google, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
International transfers
Some of these providers store or process information outside Nigeria, for example in the United States or Europe. When this happens, we rely on providers that protect personal information to a standard consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Cookies and local storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our website uses your browser's local storage to remember your cart and your preferred currency. This stays on your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep it
- Order, payment and delivery records: for as long as Nigerian tax and accounting law requires (generally 6 years).
- Gift card records: until the card expires, then as part of our order records.
- Measurements: for as long as you shop with us, so future pieces fit. Ask us at any time and we'll delete them.
- Your account: until you delete it, which you can do at any time from the My details page. Order records stay as described above.
- Carts you didn't complete: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Job applications: up to 12 months, so we can contact you about future roles. Ask us at any time and we'll delete yours sooner.
- Messages: for as long as needed to help you, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email info@creedandcrown.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). We'd appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
Keeping it safe
We use secure, encrypted connections across our website, and our payment, email and hosting providers protect your information with industry-standard security. No system is completely secure, so if we ever become aware of a breach that affects you, we'll let you and the authorities know as the law requires.
Children
Our website and products are not aimed at children under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
